The SBD-3 Dauntless exterior set in 1:144 (Brengun) is a detail set of photo-etched parts and resin for sharpening up the outside of a model. It is not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Czech manufacturer Brengun for sharpening up the outside of a model of the SBD-3 Dauntless carrier dive bomber in 1:144. The set combines fine photo-etched parts with resin parts; among other things it contains the perforated dive flaps with their characteristic pierced structure, which replace the simplified plastic rendering. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for an existing kit.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier dive bomber of the Second World War. It became famous for its decisive share in the victory at the Battle of Midway, where its crews sank the Japanese aircraft carriers. A typical feature of the machine was the perforated flaps that served as dive brakes in a dive.
Separate the etched parts with a sharp knife and fold them in a bending tool; the more complicated flap parts call for patience. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and cut the casting blocks off. Bond everything with cyanoacrylate glue. In the small 1:144 scale, work with tweezers and good lighting.
An add-on set of photo-etched parts and resin. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
