Talios is a targeting pod carried under the Rafale. Inside it has optoelectronic sensors with which the crew searches for and tracks targets on the ground, designates them for guided munitions and gathers imagery intelligence. On a model it is a prominent store: without it a combat aircraft looks like a machine ready for a ferry flight, not for a mission.
The package holds two pieces of the pod in 1:144 scale, as the name of the set states. A pair comes in useful when you are building two models, or when you want a spare while working with a part this small. Whether the set also holds a pylon or an adapter is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
In 1:144 scale this is a very small part, so work over a light tray with a rim and use tweezers. Cut off the surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder so the edges do not disappear. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Choose the glue according to the material; parts that are not polystyrene hold on cyanoacrylate glue, and plastic model cement does not work on them. Set the optical window apart from the matte body of the pod with a glossy dark color, because it is exactly that contrast that makes the part readable even in such a small scale. Check the position of the mounting against the documentation for the version of the aircraft you are building.
The set is meant for the modeler who builds the Rafale in a small scale and wants stores matching the real equipment of the aircraft. Working with small parts calls for tweezers and a steady hand. This is an accessory to a model; the kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
