A Green Stuff World texture plate with a chainmail design. It is a modeling tool: the plate impresses a regular texture into modeling compound rolled out with a roller, a texture you would spend long hours scribing by hand and never as evenly. The plate is used over and over and is not consumed. Size S is the smallest of the sizes offered and suits smaller areas and accessory pieces.

Use

• Roll the two-part or polymer compound out into an even layer.
• Lightly coat both the surface of the plate and the compound with a release agent so that the texture does not tear; water, soapy water or petroleum jelly work well, depending on the compound used.
• Lay the plate on and press evenly, ideally with a roller, so that the impression does not smear.
• Lift the plate straight up, trim the impressed sheet to the shape you want and let the compound cure.
• After use, clean the plate and let it dry.

What the design suits

Chainmail texture is used on fantasy and historical figures, on banners, cloaks and capes, and as a filler in a diorama scene, for example armor hung in an armory. The impression can also be used as a mold for thin castings, which are then glued onto the structure of a figure.

For modelers and wargamers who convert or complete figures, and for anyone who works with modeling compound and needs an even texture. Even a beginner can manage the work, but the result depends on how evenly you roll the compound out.
