1:16 Exclusion Zone Stalker From Universe Of 'Stalker' Games

The real subject

The Stalker game series is set in the closed zone around Chernobyl, and its characters are people who go into it under their own steam. They have no uniform gear and no uniform color: whatever could be got hold of is worn, and the longer one walks in the zone, the more it shows on the equipment. The modeler thus gets a real subject with which he need not stick to regulations and can leave himself a free hand in the shades and in the degree of wear.

What you will find in the box

A figure in 1:16 scale. The list of parts and the material are given in the details with the goods; the procedure for gluing and preparation is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Tips on painting and finishing

• Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface down.
• Wash the figure and degrease it, and only then lay on a base coat.
• In a large scale an area will take more work: build the shade up in thin coats and blend the transitions while they are still wet.
• Set leather and cloth apart by the degree of sheen, not by shade alone; a matte surface looks more faithful on clothing.
• Keep the dirt low down, on the boots and the hems of the trousers, not evenly over the whole figure.
• Draw a matte varnish over the finished figure and leave the gloss only to metal and glass.

Who it is for

For modelers who want to spend more than one evening on a single figure and take the face and the gear through to the last detail. The large format is rewarding also for those who strain their eyes on small figures. A figure is supplied. Paints, glue and a base are not included, unless stated otherwise.
