1:16 M4A1E8 Medium Tank is a large-format kit of the Sherman with a cast hull, a 76 mm gun and HVSS suspension from the I Love Kit marque.
Responsibility details are not available.
The large 1:16 scale gives a tank a completely different dimension from the usual 1:35 scale: the finished model is nearly half a meter long and carries a degree of detail that would be lost in a smaller scale. According to the manufacturer the package contains photo-etched accessories and workable tracks assembled from individual links. This is a kit for long evenings, not a quick weekend job.
The M4A1 designation belongs to the version of the Sherman with a cast upper part of the hull, whose rounded shapes are told from the welded versions at first glance. The E8 addition means HVSS suspension with wide tracks, which improved the tank's running across terrain and spread the pressure on the ground. This late form with a 76 mm gun came about at the close of the Second World War and, together with related versions, accompanied American units for a long time after its end.
Finish the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close the whole up: afterwards you will reach inside only with difficulty. Assemble the links of the tracks in longer stretches and keep trying the sag, as every irregularity is seen in a large scale. Emphasize the cast structure of the hull with a coarser surface of the primer. Grade the dust and the mud from the bottom upward, so that the model does not come across as uniform, and liven up the metal edges with graphite.
The kit arrives in an unassembled state and without a coat; the paints, the glue and the accessory chemicals every modeler chooses himself.
