A set of decals in 1:16 scale for a model of the light PzKpfw I tank in the Ausf B version. The markings are tied to the campaigns in Norway and in France in 1940. The package holds markings on their own for a finished model, not parts or a whole kit.
The Ausf B version came about by revising the original Ausf A. It received a more powerful liquid-cooled inline six-cylinder engine, on account of which the hull had to be lengthened, so a fifth road wheel and a higher track run were added on each side. The armament stayed machine guns and the crew two men. By 1940 the type was already obsolete, yet a considerable number took part in both of the campaigns named, escorting heavier tanks in a reconnaissance and liaison role.
On a model in 1:16 the sides of the superstructure and the turret are large flat surfaces on which every irregularity under a design shows. Coat them with a gloss varnish, seat the design and let a softener settle it against the edges and the rivets. A matte varnish will finally return a uniform look to the surface and prepare it for dust effects around the running gear.
The set serves as an accessory to a model. Prepare your own modeling chemicals.
