The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War, and the 251/1 version carried infantry. The letter D marks the late production form with a simplified superstructure: straight sides without a break, a simpler rear and bins built directly into the sides. It is this form that turns up most often on models, because it accompanied the German units in the last years of the war.
Photo-etched metal parts to complete the plastic kit of this vehicle. By its designation this is the fifth part of the range, that is, an add-on set following on from the basic set, and it is focused on the upper armor in its standard form; the late form of the same assembly is covered in the range by a separate set numbered eight. The list of parts, and the kit the photo-etched sheet is cut to fit, are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Go through them before you start, so that you know which plastic parts will have to be cut away.
The set is for builders who want the armor surfaces on the model to be of the right thickness and who do not mind the slower work with small metal parts. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
