1:16 DP station dispatcher - Metro 1984 is a figure of a transport employee of the Prague metro in the service uniform of the mid-1980s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure captures a station dispatcher of the transport company on duty at a metro station in 1984. The 1:16 scale is among the largest commonly built for figures, so the cut of the uniform, the pockets, the shoulder boards and the features of the face stand out on the finished figure. A large figure is therefore usually built as a standalone object for a display case or as the main figure of a smaller scene.
The station dispatcher dispatched the train from the platform and watched the boarding and alighting of passengers at the doors of the cars. Transport employees of the time wore a dark uniform of the company's cut, a peaked cap, a shirt with a tie and the markings of their service grade on the collar and the sleeve. The abbreviation DP refers to the transport company, that is the operator of the metro. In 1984 the Prague metro ran on lines A and C; line B opened only a year later.
Do not mix the dark uniform from pure black. A very dark blue-gray looks considerably more alive, which you gradually lighten on the edges of the folds and on the shoulders. Build the face with thin glazes, so that it stays translucent and does not disappear under a single covering coat. The buttons and badges are brought to life by a dot of gloss varnish; leave the rest of the uniform matte. The figure suits a setting with a platform, wall facing and a train in the background, or beside a model of a city transport vehicle of a similar size.
