A large collector resin figure of an American paratrooper of 1944 in the large 1:16 scale from Freedom Model Kits. The soldier is conceived as the driver of a captured Kettenkrad half-track motorcycle (Sd.Kfz. 2) and is an ideal addition to a model of that vehicle in the same scale. It is a multi-part casting for experienced modelers and collectors; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Kettenkrad (Sd.Kfz. 2) was a small German half-track tractor controlled like a motorcycle, widely used in the Second World War. The Allies, including American airborne units, routinely captured and used such vehicles after taking ground. The figure in the large 1:16 scale makes it possible to work the face, the uniform and the equipment of the paratrooper up in great detail.
First wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting. The large scale calls for smooth transitions between the shades — it is best to paint the face and the uniform in layers with acrylic or oil paints and to spend time on the shading.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, a base and the vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
