This item from Hobby Design is not a model of a car or a whole wheel but a set of tires in 1:18 scale with the tread of the Toyo Proxes R1R. They fit onto wheels of the matching diameter and serve to give a build recognizable rubber instead of the generic tires from the box. The manufacturer gives the particular sizes, the material and the number of pieces in the package on the packaging.
The Proxes R1R is a road-legal semi-slick tire from the Japanese brand Toyo, aimed at drivers who get to a track day under their own power. Its identifying mark is a soft, strongly broken tread with large blocks at the outer shoulder and a small number of longitudinal grooves. It is exactly this pattern that is still readable in 1:18 scale, which makes the tire a rewarding detail. The 19-inch size belongs to modern sporting coupes and to sharper conversions, not to historic specials.
Before fitting, compare the width of the rim with the inner diameter of the tire; a small difference can be made up by careful warming or by lightly sanding the inner wall. The sidewalls look convincing when they are evened out to a deeply matte tone with no sheen. The tread gains depth if the edges of the blocks are picked out with drybrushing in light gray and a thin breath of dust is added into the grooves.
