Pre-cut masks in 1:32 scale for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc fighter aircraft. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The double-sided version means that the sheet covers both the outer and the inner side of the clear parts - so you can color the frames in the surface camouflage from outside and in the interior shade from inside. That is exactly what makes the greatest difference in a large scale, because in 1:32 the cockpit is clearly visible.
The Spitfire Mk.IX came about as a quick answer to the new German fighters: a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin of the 60 series with a two-stage two-speed supercharger was built into the airframe of the previous version, and it gave the aircraft back its advantage at high altitudes. Its recognition features are therefore a longer nose and a four-blade propeller. The letter c in the designation denotes the so-called universal wing, which allowed various combinations of machine-gun and cannon armament to be fitted. The version was built in large numbers and was used on practically every front where the Spitfire served.
First degrease the clear parts and let them dry off. Lift a mask from the sheet with tweezers, lay it down and press it with a soft tool from the center toward the edges, so that no air is left under it. Stick the inner masks on before you fit the canopy to the fuselage, and spray the interior shade first - only then come the outer masking and the surface color. Spray thin layers; a heavy layer creeps under the edge. Take the masks off while the finish is only touch-dry, and pull them slowly back over themselves.
The set is an accessory for the model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
