This is not a kit and not a scenic object, but a flat backing material. The sheet carries a white marble pattern and is used wherever a model should stand on a surface resembling a polished stone floor, under a finished figure, a bust, a vehicle or a whole small scene in a display case.
Why a white pattern. Of all the marble patterns in this range, white is the most neutral. It does not compete with the color of the model, it visually enlarges the area and it works under dark vehicles just as well as under figures in colorful uniforms. In a display case holding several models it keeps the whole exhibit together, because it puts every piece on the same backing.
Not only for a display case. It also does good service at a club show or a swap meet, where models are put on other people's tables of varying color and quality. One sheet under all the exhibited pieces unifies the look of the whole panel and sets it apart from the neighboring one.
For modelers who exhibit finished work in a display case or photograph it and want a clean, repeatable backing underneath. It also suits the quick preparation of a surface for a competition table, where there is no time to build terrain.
