A set of four resin BBS LM rims in 1:18 scale replaces the wheels supplied with a kit or with a collectible model. Neither the car itself nor tires are included; what you are buying is one of the most recognizable silhouettes that can be set under a fender. A resin casting carries the fine mesh that a production mold would fill in.
The BBS LM is a multi-piece forged wheel from the German brand BBS with a dense cross-mesh and a separate outer lip held to it by a row of rivets. The combination of a darker center and a polished lip made the LM one of the most copied designs on Japanese and European sports cars of the 1990s, and it still turns up today on circuit conversions and on period replicas.
What matters most is keeping the mesh well defined: spray at right angles to the face of the wheel and from the edge toward the center, so that the paint does not build up in the valleys between the spokes. A two-tone finish is easier if the lip is unmasked only after the center has dried. A dark wash run between the spokes separates the individual fields, and the row of rivets on the lip stands out if you run a silver pencil along it.
