Replacement wheels from Hobby Design for a large scale model of the Ferrari FF. The name gives a size of twenty inches, which matches the wheels of the real car. Swapping the rims is one of the quickest ways to change the character of a model, because a wheel is the first thing the eye notices on a car, and at the same time it is where the difference between a coarsely made and a carefully made part shows most.
The Ferrari FF, presented in 2011, was exceptional in the brand's history twice over. As the first production Ferrari it was given all-wheel drive, a system called 4RM with a front transmission of its own, and as the first it had a shooting brake body with three doors and a full luggage compartment. At the front it was served by a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12.
Take the original rims out carefully so that you do not damage the ends of the axles. Try the new set dry and check whether the wheel lines up with the fender, because at a large scale even a deviation of a few tenths of a millimeter shows. If you assemble the wheel from a rim and a tire, paint the rim before you join them; you can cut a masking ring from adhesive tape. Matting the sidewalls down at the end does the overall impression good.
