A large plastic kit of the Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter in the large 1:18 scale from Hobby Boss. Thanks to the scale it is a markedly bigger model than the usual aircraft kits, with a richly broken-down surface and a well-developed interior of the cabin and the cargo compartment. The model is supplied as injection-molded plastic to be assembled and painted.
The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, nicknamed the Huey, is one of the best-known helicopters in history. It became famous during the war in Vietnam in the transport, medevac and gunship roles and became a symbol of the air mobility of the infantry. It was powered by a turboshaft engine and its characteristic two-blade main rotor gave it an unmistakable sound.
In a large scale it pays to clean up the mold seams carefully and to glue with liquid cement for plastic. Mask the cabin glazing and finish and paint the interior before you close the fuselage. A base of primer and an airbrush are recommended; the large fuselage surfaces will benefit from an even coat and final weathering with oil washes.
