An injection-molded plastic kit of the racing Porsche 935 in the large 1:20 scale from the Japanese maker Tamiya. The model captures the car in the striking green livery of the sponsor Vaillant in the form built by the Kremer team (935 K2). The package offers a detailed rear engine accessible under a removable cover, racing slick tires, a driver figure and decals with a choice between two cars.
The Porsche 935 was a Group 5 racing special derived from the 911 Turbo. A turbocharged flat-six, markedly reworked aerodynamics and the so-called Flachbau flat nose made it one of the most successful racing cars of its day in the second half of the 1970s. The private Kremer team built versions of the 935 of its own and scored with them in the German and international championships in the green Vaillant livery.
The large 1:20 scale stands out through the detailed engine, so finish and paint it carefully before closing the body up. Use a thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Spray the body with an airbrush over a primer, seal the green paint with a gloss clear coat and polish it. Apply the large sponsor decals onto a smooth gloss base with a decal softener. The enclosed driver figure comes to life with shading on the racing suit and the helmet.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
