Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory, not a ship model. The self-adhesive wooden deck of fine veneer is laser-cut to the shape of the flight deck of the American aircraft carrier USS Hornet CV-8 in the large 1:200 scale. The printed-in drawing of the planks replaces smooth plastic and gives the sizeable flight deck a convincing wooden look. The set is intended for a large-format plastic kit matching this ship and this scale.
USS Hornet CV-8 was one of the Yorktown-class aircraft carriers of the US Navy. She became famous as the ship from whose deck the bombers took off in April 1942 during the raid on Tokyo, and she took part in the Battle of Midway. In October 1942 she was lost at the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands.
In a large scale the area of the deck is sizeable, which makes it all the more important to clean and degrease the base carefully before sticking anything on. The parts peel off their backing and are laid on step by step from one end, with the veneer pressed down evenly so that no bubbles form. Once it is on, it is a good idea to fix the deck with a matte clear varnish.
This is a separate accessory to a plastic model. The ship kit itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
