Holographic film T-90A 1:35 from SX-Art replaces the blind plastic instrument glass on a model of the Russian tank and needs no paint to do it.
Responsibility details are not available.
A clear film for the vision ports, the periscopes and the glass of the optical devices on a model of the T-90A tank. It is not a kit and not a conversion set, but a detail that seats into the recess left after the plastic part has been cut away.
For years modelers have tried to imitate glass on instruments with paint: a dark green or violet base, a drop of gloss varnish over it, perhaps a white highlight with a brush. The result is always a compromise, because paint has no depth and the highlight stays in one place no matter where you look from. The film gets around this problem by working with real refraction, so both the shade and the position of the highlight change with the viewing angle. That is exactly why it must not be overpainted or given a matte coat: every extra layer dulls the effect. The only maintenance the model needs is to have the dust removed now and then, best done with a soft brush or a blower rather than by wiping.
The T-90A is a Russian main battle tank following on from the T-72 and T-90 series, which received a welded turret in place of the earlier cast one. The turret carries a set of observation and sighting devices, and those are what this set deals with.
