1:32 F-35A Lightning II remove before flight covers is a Quickboost accessory set with protective covers and flags for a model of the F-35A in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is an accessory to the build, not an aircraft model. The set contains protective covers with warning flags of the kind that on a real machine are fitted over the intakes and the sensitive openings while the aircraft stands on the ground. On a model this immediately creates the story of a parked machine made ready for maintenance.
The F-35A Lightning II is a single-seat fifth-generation fighter in the land-based version, with which great emphasis is placed on the cleanness of the shape of the surface and on the protection of the sensors. That is exactly why a number of covers and blanking plugs with conspicuous flags are used on it on the ground, so that the ground personnel do not overlook them before takeoff. For a modeler it is a rewarding detail: colored flags break the uniform gray surface of the airframe up.
Separate the parts carefully from the sprue with a fine-toothed saw, so that the attachments do not break off. Roughen the contact surfaces and wash and degrease the whole part before painting - otherwise the paint holds badly. A thin coat of primer applied with an airbrush holds best. Glue the covers with super glue or with a glue meant for finishing work; a classic cement for plastic may not take reliably here. Bring the flags and the lettering out at the end and emphasize them gently with a dry brush. Fit the covers only once the paintwork of the airframe is finished, so that you do not close an unfinished surface in under them, and consider whether you want to glue them on permanently or leave them freely removable for photographing the model.
