Nineteen-inch three-piece wheel discs in a retro rally cut, supplied on their own without tires.

The Californian make Fifteen52 came about in the middle of the nineties and from the start played with a reference to the time when competition specials came down gravel on wheels with gold paint and a polished edge. The Outlaw 001 design is outright a quotation of that aesthetic: a star drawing of the spokes you would expect on a car of the seventies or eighties, carried out in a diameter that did not exist back then.
It is exactly from that that its strength on a model arises. If you fit this set to a modern hatchback or to a small sports car, you get a build that clearly refers to the era of competition homologation specials without being a historical replica. In color the most logical choice is gold with a silver ring, or else the white that the factory rally cars of the Nordic teams wore.
The three-piece construction means that the real wheel is bolted together from a center and two rings. On the casting that shows as a suggested row of bolts around the circumference, which is worth bringing out with a dark wash – without it the pattern is lost in the paint.
The package contains the discs only. The rubber can be taken from a kit, but with this style a tire with a more pronounced block tread pattern suits better than a smooth road tire; the contrast between competition rubber and a polished edge is exactly what the design tells.
Before fitting, check how high the hub sits against the brake disc from the kit; with a retro drawing of the spokes the inside is clearly visible and an empty space showing through spoils the impression more than with a dense mesh.
