Injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Nissan 370Z sports coupe in the special Heritage edition, in 1:24 scale from Tamiya. The built model is 175 millimeters long and 77 millimeters wide. The kit matches the later form of the car and, following the instructions, it can be built with left-hand or right-hand drive, which is a welcome freedom on models of Japanese cars.
The Nissan 370Z appeared in 2008 as a classic coupe with a long nose, a front engine and rear-wheel drive. The special Heritage edition came in May 2018 and looks back at the earlier generation of the Z line, above all with the stripes on the flanks of the body and with an interior treatment inspired by a commemorative edition of the 280Z. That is precisely why it differs from the standard form mainly in appearance.
On a car model, everything stands or falls with the paintwork on the body. Wash the part carefully, take off the parting lines, lay down a primer and apply the color in several thin coats. Tune the gloss with a clear coat and, if need be, a fine polishing compound. The kit includes plated parts with gloss and matte finishes and clear parts for the headlights and tail lights, so be sparing with glue on the chrome to avoid damaging the surface. Apply the metal transfers for the badges and mirrors with dry hands and tweezers. The stripes are on the decal sheet in two color versions, so choose them to suit the shade of the body. Bring the interior to life by setting the plastics, the fabric and the glossy surfaces apart with flat and semi-gloss clear coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
