A set of miniature action cameras in 1:24 scale for competition and circuit car models.

From the moment rugged handheld cameras came down in price, the look of racing cars changed as well. Small boxy bodies with a lens appeared on roofs, on the tubes of roll cages and on fenders, because a recording from the car is something every team, sponsor and spectator wants to have. A model built from a present-day subject looks a decade older than it was meant to without them.
The package is made up of an assortment of small camera bodies in 1:24 scale. They are the smallest parts that get fitted to a model, so count on tweezers, a sharp knife and a mat on which nothing small will roll away.
The most common position is on the roof at the rear edge, then on a cage tube behind the driver's head and looking forward over the hood. Suggest the mount with a short piece of thin wire or of stretched sprue and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Finally pick the lens out with a drop of gloss clear varnish, which gives the depth of glass better than any silver paint.
Small things of this kind decide whether a model comes across as a toy or as a machine in miniature. It is an easy way to move a build forward. Only do not be sparing with thought about the placing: there are usually several cameras on a car, but each one has a logical reason for being exactly where it is.
