An unassembled injection-molded plastic kit of a circuit racing car in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. It is not a road coupe but a racing machine tied to a particular Biyo sponsor livery and to the 1989 season of the Japanese touring car championship. The sponsor and the year are the main distinguishing items here, because the manufacturer releases a number of other racing and production variants of the same body. Neither the number of parts nor the contents of the decal sheet are stated here.
The Supra of the A70 generation was a two-door coupe with a front engine and rear-wheel drive, in its top form with a turbocharged inline six. The version designated Turbo A came about as the basis for homologation into group touring car competition, so the production examples received a modified intake and turbocharging and only a limited number were built. In the racing form of the end of the 1980s it is a markedly reworked car: additional aerodynamics, wider wheels, a cage in the interior and a full-body sponsor livery.
The procedure is the same as with other circuit racing cars: a clean body, a primer, paint with an airbrush in thin layers, cured paint and only then a gloss coat under the decals. Seat the large sponsor decals gradually, with plenty of water and with a decal softener, so that they settle onto the edges of the fenders and onto the spoiler. Once dry comes a second gloss varnish, which sinks the edges of the decals in. Paint the cage, the seat and the dashboard matte, and finish the wheels and tires separately. Keep the patina sparing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
