It is not a part of a car and not a kit, but a small thing which gives a diorama credibility. In garage and street scenes in 1:24 scale it is precisely such objects that see to it that the space looks used: bottles on a shelf, in the doorway of a workshop, in a crate beside the car.
Bottles almost never stand alone and in a row. A little group with irregular spacing looks more natural, and perhaps one piece knocked over. Put them where someone would really have put them down: on a worktop, by the leg of a table, into a box. Try the layout dry and glue only once the composition has been approved. Because of the size of the parts, dose the super glue with the tip of a toothpick, so that it does not run and dull the surrounding surface.
Clean the parts up, wash them in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry properly. In small scales glass is best imitated with a transparent effect: a smooth base, a thin layer of clear colored varnish or a tinted transparent shade over it, and a high gloss at the end. Suggest the contents of a bottle with a darker color from the inside or on the lower part, and paint the neck and the cap with a thin brush. On objects as small as these it is better only to suggest the labels with a field of color than to attempt legible text. The difference of sheen is the main storyteller here: matte the scene down around the bottles, but leave the glass itself glossy so that it stands out. Apply dust and pigments only to the surroundings and the lower part of the bottles, never over the whole surface of the glass. Between the layers always leave enough time for drying through, and apply varnishes over each other only after the previous layer has cured completely.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue, a base and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
