A Decalcas decal sheet for a model of the Ford Escort RS1600 Mk I in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ford Escort RS1600 Mk I is the sharp version of the first generation Escort, that is the car with which the marque made its name in rallying at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. The body with the round headlamps is thanks to that a fixture among modelers. The shape of the car is the same on all kits, so what particular machine stands on the shelf is decided only by the markings.
The sheet from the Decalcas brand brings motifs for a model of the Escort RS1600 Mk I in 1:24 scale and replaces or supplements the decals from a kit. The kit itself and paints you obtain separately. A list of the motifs and their placement is found in the manufacturer's data. Before you wet anything, lay the larger motifs against the body dry and think over how they will run over the edges, the window frames and the door gaps.
The paint under a decal has to be smooth and glossy; on a flat area air gets caught under the film and the edges go pale. Cut the motif out close to the artwork, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest aside until it begins to move on the backing paper. Then move it into place, straighten it with a soft brush and blot the excess water away with a cloth. Over rounded shapes and into engraved lines a softener will help the decal to settle. Once it is completely dry, go over the area with a clear coat, which will bury the edges into the surface.
For builders of competition cars who want the markings sharp and legible even from close up. The model, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
