The GX61 MarkII Twincam 24 E.A.S. kit at a ratio of 1:24 captures a Japanese mid-size sedan with twin-cam six-cylinder engineering.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic model of the Japanese Mark II sedan with a body carrying the GX61 code. The Twincam 24 addition in the name refers to the twin-cam six with twenty-four valves that set the top versions of this line apart from the ordinary ones. The abbreviation E.A.S. is the designation of a model line from the manufacturer and appears on other sets from it as well.
In Japan the Mark II line sat in a segment that has no exact counterpart elsewhere: a roomy, conservatively cut sedan with a longitudinally mounted six and rear-wheel drive. It was exactly this combination that later made it a sought-after basis for conversions. The angular body of the X60 generation, with its thin pillars and a pronounced chrome line, is a typical piece of Japanese design of its time.
On sedans of this cut the result is decided by the cleanness of the window surrounds and the chrome trim strips. The safest route is to spray the body, let it cure properly and only then lay the chrome lines on with a short-bristled brush or do them with a thin foil. The interior is clearly visible from outside through the large glazing, so it is worth giving it more than a single color.
The model is waiting to be assembled and sprayed; paints and glue have to be bought separately.
