The Aoshima Honda AA City Turbo II in 1:24 scale is a plastic kit of the turbocharged version of the first-generation Honda City in the 1985 model year version.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima captures the Honda City with the type designation AA in the Turbo II version. The 1:24 scale is the most widespread for road cars, so the model fits in well among the other vehicles in a display case.
The first-generation Honda City with the type designation AA was built from 1981 and was based on an unconventional concept: a very short but unusually tall body offered a surprisingly roomy interior on a small footprint. The Turbo II version, introduced in 1983, received a turbocharged engine with an intercooler, widened fenders, a striking front grille and deeper bumpers. For its squat look it earned the nickname bulldog and became one of the most characteristic Japanese small cars of its day.
A small model with short overhangs goes together quickly, but the result is decided by the cleanliness of the detail. Try the widened fenders and the bumpers dry first and only then glue them with thin cement for polystyrene. Spray the body over filler primer and let the thin coats of paint dry through. The black plastic fender trim and the grille stand out well in a matte shade against a gloss body. With a car this small it pays to appoint the interior, because it is clearly visible through the large windows.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
