A plastic kit of the Italian supercar in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima. The particularity of the package is the body, which according to the name comes from the factory already painted green. That removes the most demanding part of building a car model, namely preparing the surface and spraying a deep gloss finish.

The real subject

The Huracan replaced the Gallardo in 2014 and became the best-selling car of the marque from Sant'Agata. It is powered by a naturally aspirated V10 mounted ahead of the rear axle and working with a dual-clutch gearbox. The sharply cut body with its hexagonal motifs is a tribute to the shape language of the marque and looks very striking in model scale, because the sharp edges catch the light well.

Building and painting tips

• Handle the painted parts with gloves, as prints are hard to remove from a gloss finish.
• Finish the interior and the chassis before you settle the body for good.
• Clean up the parting lines on hidden parts with a fine file and a sanding sponge.
• Fit the glazing with a glue that does not fog clear parts.
