This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese company Hasegawa captures the rally legend Lancia Stratos HF in the configuration for the Safari Rally 1977 in the colors of the sponsor Alitalia. The model faithfully reproduces the wedge-shaped body of the car and adds the front and rear protective bars typical of rough rally use. The box holds rotating wheels, vinyl tires with a realistic tread and film for cutting out the mud flaps. The quality decals are printed by Cartograf.
The Lancia Stratos HF was the first car designed from the ground up as a competition special for the world rally championship. Its short wheelbase, the wedge-shaped body from the Bertone studio and the mid-mounted Ferrari V6 engine made it an exceptionally nimble and dominant car of the 1970s. The Stratos won several world championship titles and became an icon of the golden era of rallying.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Build the white base of the body over a primer and paint it with an airbrush in thin coats — clean white is demanding in terms of coverage. Apply the colorful Alitalia graphics on a perfectly glossy base and seal them with a clear coat. Finish and paint the protective bars and the chassis parts before you fit the body. Cut the mud flaps out of the enclosed film. Do not overpaint the vinyl tires with paint for plastic — it may never dry.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
