Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:24 scale from the Spanish brand Decalcas. It carries the race numbers, names and sponsor areas of the Porsche 917K that Team AAW Racing put on the grid of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970. It is not a kit and not a finished model — it is a marking set for a model you already have. The manufacturer intends it for the Fujimi kit.
The Porsche 917 was built for the sports prototype group and is powered by an air-cooled flat twelve. The K designation stands for Kurzheck, that is short tail: after the long tail behaved unstably in 1969, the car was given a shorter body raised at the rear, which settled it down on the straights. The year 1970 brought Porsche its first overall win at Le Mans. The Team AAW Racing car, backed by the Finnish businessman Antti Aarnio-Wihuri together with the British driver David Piper, was yellow with a red nose and underbody.
Decals belong on a glossy, fully cured finish. Cut them out one at a time and as close to the artwork as possible, dip them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let them soften on the paper. On curved surfaces a decal softener applied after the artwork has settled will help. Finally spray the whole car with clear so the decal edges disappear.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
