Cale Yarborough was among the most successful drivers of the American track series: in the second half of the 1970s he took three titles in a row and he won repeatedly at Daytona, the last time in the mid-1980s precisely with car number 28 of Harry Ranier's team. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo of that time was a racing body derived from the production coupe, and under it hid a tube frame, a live rear axle and a large-displacement V8. The aerodynamics of the body were crucial on the big ovals that season and the teams worked on them a great deal.
First plan the order of the work: finish the interior and the frame, then the body. Sand the parting lines on the body carefully and check the surface with a thin layer of primer - only under that do the scratches show that would stand out under gloss paint. Spray the paint in several thin layers. Large decals with strong colors are better applied in sections, onto a wet glossy base and with plenty of water under the film, so that they can still be moved. At the end, even the surface out with a clear coat and polishing.
