The third generation Mazda RX-7, factory designation FD3S, came onto the market at the start of the 1990s and remains one of the most cleanly shaped Japanese coupes of its day. Under the hood it had a two-rotor engine of Wankel design turbocharged by a pair of turbochargers, it drove the rear wheels and it relied on low weight rather than on engine capacity. The A-Spec Type GT-C designation refers to a body standard from the Mazdaspeed range, that is to more sportingly shaped exterior parts.
This is a plastic kit of a passenger car in 1:24 scale, that is in the most widespread size for automotive models. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The exact extent of the parts, the number of variants and the content of the decal sheet are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
With an automotive model the body decides the result. Remove the excess material and the traces of manufacture before you start painting, sand the surface with fine paper and apply a primer coat, because every unevenness shows under a gloss finish. Apply the paint in thin coats and let it cure properly; only then polish the surface and seal it with clear. Mask the glazing before spraying so that overspray does not settle on the edges, and glue the clear parts with a cement meant for clear plastic so that they do not cloud over. Finish the chassis and the interior before you fit the body, because afterward you cannot reach them.
Paints, glue, putty and clear coats are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
