The Sileighty (S13 and RS13 Middle) in 1:24 scale captures the famous combination of the 180SX body with the front end of the Silvia coupe.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the car created by joining two related Nissans: the body of the 180SX liftback was given the front end of the Silvia S13 coupe with fixed headlights. The Middle tag in the name refers to the form of the donor body from the middle stage of production.
It began as an improvisation: a damaged front end of a 180SX was repaired in one Japanese workshop with parts from the Silvia, because those were cheaper and easier to come by. The combination caught on so well, however, that it earned a name of its own and in time a factory-sold variant as well. The car joined the rounded, clean nose of the coupe with the practical sloping tail of the liftback and became one of the symbols of Japanese conversion culture of the 1990s. Comics and animated series about racing on mountain roads cemented its popularity.
A front end without pop-up headlights is easier to build than on the original 180SX, but the transition between the grille and the fenders is exactly what deserves attention when sanding. The recommended procedure is to try the whole nose dry before painting. Then spray the body in thin coats, because the meeting of the panels in the headlight area is fond of showing irregularities. Glue the glazing of the liftback with a minimum of glue and preferably only once the paint is finished.
The set is intended to be built; it arrives in pieces and with no paint applied.
