Montex 1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb masks

Self-adhesive painting masks from the Polish manufacturer Montex for large-scale models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:24 scale. The set serves for a clean spray job on the frames of the cockpit glazing and, as a rule, for masking the national markings and codes as well, so that they can be sprayed instead of using decals. It is an aid for painting, not parts of a model.

The real subject

The Spitfire Mk.Vb was a British single-seat fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, used from the beginning of the 1940s. The B wing carried two cannons and four machine guns and the Mk.V was one of the most widespread versions of the Spitfire in the Second World War.

Use

• Stick the glazing masks onto degreased parts, smooth the edges down and spray the cockpit frames.
• Place the marking masks according to the drawing and spray them in the correct order of colors.
• In the large 1:24 scale the crisp sprayed edges of the markings come out better than printed decals.
• Take the mask off while the paint is still fresh; suitable for an airbrush.
