Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. The box is devoted to the form of the Celica 1600GT for the Japanese Grand Prix of 1973, that is to a racing specification and not to the production coupe. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The first generation Celica, the TA22 type, was a sports coupe built on production mechanicals, and Toyota offered it in several levels of equipment. The 1600GT version got a 1.6-liter twin-cam engine and became a popular basis for circuit racing at home in Japan. It was in exactly this specification that the cars started in domestic events including the Nippon Grand Prix, where they met other Japanese coupes of the day.
A racing car lives and dies by its decals: apply them over a perfectly glossy base, use a softener and coat the finished markings with a clear varnish, so that the edges disappear. Paint the body over a filler primer in thin coats; the 1970s mean bold colors, which will not tell without a level base. The interior of a racing specification is bare compared with a production car, so the quality of the detail stands out — the cage, the seat and the instruments deserve a dry brush and fine accenting. Finish the chassis and the wheels before you seat the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
