The third set in the Yamamoto Model Parts range of transport cases, designated Type C. It is not a vehicle kit but a scenic accessory. The cases serve where an empty area would otherwise be left: on a garage floor, by a workbench, on the bed of a service truck or in the luggage compartment of a model with an opening rear. Scale 1:24 matches common car and motorcycle models.
Detail decides whether a scene looks lived in. Cases and crates set the size of a space, fill out the composition and give the viewer an excuse to imagine the story taking place in the scene. Because they are separate, they can be placed freely, leaned against a wall, stacked up or left open, one of them, so that the scene does not look tidied up.
Wash the accessories in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry thoroughly, otherwise the paint holds less well. Level the places where the part was separated with fine sandpaper. Apply thin coats: primer, the color shade and finally the effects. Cases look believable when they differ in both color and wear, one scuffed, another cleaner, a third dusty. A dry brush brings out the edges and the fittings, a dark wash deepens the gaps and corners, and a fine pigment on the lower surfaces suggests dust from the floor.
