A plastic kit of the Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 in the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) treatment in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima. The AE86 is one of the most famous names in Japanese motoring history, and in the hands of Toyota's competition division the model gets a properly racing edge.
The Corolla Levin AE86 of the first half of the 1980s was a light rear-wheel-drive car with the 1.6-liter twin-cam 4A-GE: simple, perfectly balanced and willing to slide. The Levin differed from its sister car, the Trueno, in having fixed headlights. Thanks to its successes in rallying and on circuits, to drift culture and to popular culture, the AE86 became a legend whose prices today climb to dizzying heights. TRD, Toyota's competition division, supplied a complete range of competition parts for the car, from the suspension to the flared fenders of racing specials.
Period schemes suit the racing treatment: white or a two-tone combination with bold markings. Spray the body in thin coats over a light primer and lay the decals on a gloss surface with a decal softener so that they settle around the edges. The chassis and the engine bay are brought out by metal shades and a light dry brush, and a flat or semi-gloss final coat ties the markings in with the paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
