Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from Japan's Tamiya captures the classic Volkswagen 1300 Beetle in its 1966 model year form. The model faithfully carries over the characteristic rounded shapes of the car, a detailed engine bay and an accurately rendered interior and exterior. The front hood and the rear engine cover both open, and rubber tires, chromed bumpers and metallic transfers for the badges and lettering are included.
The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most produced cars in history, and the 1966 model year form is considered one of the purest shapes of the classic Beetle, the one that kept most of the original design. It was powered by an air-cooled flat-four mounted at the rear; the 1300 designation refers to the displacement of the engine. It is exactly the mid-1960s form that is popular among collectors.
Bond the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Build the single-color body up over a primer and paint in thin coats; the rounded surfaces of the Beetle will test the evenness of the finish, so paint with an airbrush and finish with a clear coat and polishing. Fit the chromed bumpers and the chrome trim only after painting. Apply the metallic badge transfers onto a smooth surface. Finish the detailed engine in the rear bay before you close the cover.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
