A kit of the British light monoplane Miles M.11A Whitney Straight in 1:72 scale, in Royal New Zealand Air Force markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Miles M.11 Whitney Straight is a British two-seat cabin monoplane from the second half of the thirties. It bears the name of Whitney Straight, at whose prompting the machine was created as a comfortable touring aircraft for two sitting side by side. Against the open biplanes of the time it looked modern: an enclosed cabin with glazing, clean shapes and a low-set wing. The M.11A designation belongs to one of its production forms, and many such civilian machines went into military service during the war, where they flew liaison and training duties. The finish offered in this set corresponds to a machine in Royal New Zealand Air Force markings.
This is a kit in 1:72 scale meant to be assembled and painted, not a finished model. The number of parts, their preparation and the recommended glue are stated by the manufacturer's instructions, which are also the only reliable guide to the contents of the package and to the colors of the individual areas.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting, or neither the paint nor the primer will hold. Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that the mating surfaces stay flat. The cabin glazing is the most conspicuous spot on an aircraft this small; it pays to mask it before spraying and to lay the paint on in thin coats. The small size of the model forgives fewer mistakes in the seams, so check the assembly dry run after dry run before it comes to glue.
Paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
