A finished collector's model of the third-generation Skoda Octavia in 1:43 scale from the Czech maker Abrex. The T1 finish is a curiosity of the whole range: it follows the sample series, that is the first pieces out of finished molds, and the body therefore stays bare and unpainted, protected by a clear varnish. The model is supplied finished and is meant for a collection, not for building.
The third generation of the Octavia was introduced at the end of 2012 and it was a fundamental change: a new group technical platform, a marked increase in room inside and a sharper, more angular shape with two split headlights. In this form the Octavia settled definitively as the best-selling car on the Czech market and became an ordinary part of company and family garages. That is exactly why it is among the most collected modern Skodas of all.
The model keeps the proportions and shape details of the real subject as is usual at 1:43 scale, and the bare body makes it an entirely different piece to look at than the painted versions. In a display case it comes out above all beside an ordinary color finish of the same car, because the shape of the sheet metal is clearly visible on it without the distracting gloss of a shade. For a collector it is an interesting addition to a range Abrex offers in a wide palette of shades.
