This is a set of painting masks from the manufacturer Art Scale in 1:48, not a kit of the aircraft. The marking one-sided in the name places the set among the single-sided ones, that is for masking from one side of the glazing. It is the simpler of the two forms; the double-sided one, which the manufacturer offers for the same type, is a separate item. If cleanly painted frames on the outside are enough for you and you are not counting on the inner side, this set is a practical choice.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was one of the mainstays of the Luftwaffe fighter force in the Second World War. Unlike the Messerschmitt it used a radial engine, it was given wide-track landing gear and it became famous for good handling and a sturdy structure. The A-4 version was built from 1942 and was among the most widespread early variants; its identifying features include a radio fit with a short vertical mast on the fin. A model therefore lives or dies by whether the small things around the cockpit and the tail surfaces are right.
Wash and degrease the glazing first, or the edge of the mask will not seat along its whole length. Move the pieces with tweezers and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick. Spray the paint in thin coats; one heavy coat will creep under sooner than three fine ones. Take the mask off shortly after the paint is touch dry, before it cures completely. Work the sliding canopy separately and fit it at the end of the build.
