About product

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV - instrument panel 1:32 (Yahu Models)

This is a color photo-etched instrument panel from Yahu Models in 1:32 scale. It is not a model but a cockpit detail accessory: the panel is pre-printed in color complete with dials and labels and is ready to be glued straight in without painting. It replaces the plastic or decal panel from the kit and raises the realism of the interior considerably.

The real subject

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV was a British fighter powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine and used in the later stage of the Second World War. A finely rendered instrument panel gives the cockpit in this larger scale the depth and legibility it deserves.

Use

  • Separate the panel carefully from its fret.
  • Glue it in place of the original instrument panel with super glue or with an adhesive for photo-etch.
  • The dials can be brought out with a drop of gloss clear coat to suggest glass.

Who it is for

  • Modelers building this type in 1:32 scale.
  • Anyone who wants a realistic cockpit without painting the panel.
  • Modelers who go in for superdetailing.

The accessory contains neither a model nor glue; those have to be obtained separately.
