This is not a kit but a masking set for the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb model in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. The designation TFace is the manufacturer's shorthand for a version that deals with both sides of the glazing, outer and inner. On the Hurricane that makes particular sense: the canopy is angular and densely framed, so with the cockpit slid open the inner side of the frames is clearly visible. The simpler variant for the outside only is listed separately.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British fighter of mixed construction: the fuselage was a tube frame with a covering, while on later versions the wing was all metal. Compared with the Spitfire it was a more robust machine, easier to repair and a very steady gun platform. The Mk.II version received the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine, and the Mk.IIb subversion twelve 7.7 mm machine guns in the wing and the ability to carry bombs. In the fighter-bomber role Hurricane Mk.IIb aircraft flew over Britain, in the Mediterranean and in North Africa, and a large number of machines went to the Soviet Union under aid deliveries.
The inner masks are placed before the cockpit is closed, the outer ones only before the covering color is sprayed. The surface should be clean and degreased and the edges carefully pressed down so the paint does not creep under them.
