A sheet of decals in 1:32 scale for the fuselage of a Fokker D.VII built at the parent works. According to the name of the product this is the five-color variant of the camouflage pattern, and the sheet also includes interior lozenge, that is, the pattern for the surfaces visible from inside. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
The fuselage of the Fokker D.VII consisted of a welded frame of steel tubes covered with fabric, unlike the wooden shells the competition used. The covering was made of pre-printed lozenge camouflage cloth, and because it was fabric on the inside as well, the pattern was visible in the cockpit area too. It is precisely this detail that tends to be overlooked on models, even though with an open cockpit in 1:32 scale it is clearly apparent. The demand for the type led to license production at Albatros and at the branch Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke, and machines from the individual works differed in the execution of the covering.
A fuselage is not a flat board but a broken-up surface with longitudinal stringers, transitions and openings. So always lay a decal onto it wet and shape it gradually: first seat it against one reference edge, then let the film relax with a softener and only after that draw it slowly into the recesses. Where an excess fold appears, prick the film with the tip of a needle and let a drop of softener settle it; do not pull on it. Apply the interior pieces to the inner sides of the fuselage before the halves are glued together, as on a finished model you can no longer reach them.
These are decals, that is, an accessory to a kit. The kit, the paints, the clear coat and the softener are not included in the package.
