A full photo-etched set for the main landing gear bays of an A-20G Havoc model in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a model you have already bought.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from Eduard aimed at the main landing gear bays of a model of the A-20G Havoc attack aircraft in the large 1:32 scale. It is a full photo-etched set, not a smaller selective version from the Zoom range. It is not an aircraft model; the parts are fitted to a kit you have already bought. Check the exact extent of the set against the instructions enclosed with it.
The Douglas A-20 Havoc was a twin-engined attack and light bomber aircraft with tricycle landing gear, on which the main gear retracted into the engine nacelles. The A-20G version has a solid, unglazed nose with fixed gun armament. On an aircraft with tricycle landing gear the gear bays are visible from below and from the side on a displayed model, and the plastic parts from the box usually have no structure in them at all.
Finish and paint the bays before you close the nacelles up; later you will no longer reach them. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bend them in a bender or over a steel rule and glue them with cyanoacrylate, or with two-part epoxy, which gives time to line them up. Cut away the plastic detail the photo-etch replaces and sand the surface back. Treat the metal with a filler primer before painting. The structure of the ribs and the runs in the bays will stand out if you accentuate it after painting with a dark wash and a dry brush.
