A set of three masks for the national insignia and metal barrels for the Albatros D.V in 1:32 scale. The only glass the machine carried belonged to the gunsight, and that is masked by hand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The D.V version brought a new fuselage with an oval cross-section, which was lighter and aerodynamically cleaner than its predecessor's. A low headrest blending into the spine grew behind the pilot's head, but on some of the machines the crews had it removed for the view to the rear. Under the cowling stayed the inline six-cylinder Mercedes and above it a pair of synchronized weapons whose cooling jackets reach right up to the front edge of the pilot's cut-out.
When glass is spoken of on this generation, it is not the cockpit but the gunsight. A number of machines received a telescopic sight mounted above the weapons with lenses at both ends, and it is those two faces that are the only place on a model where paint really does harm. Vinyl masks are not made for round lenses under a millimeter in diameter, so they are covered with a drop of masking fluid. The masks in the envelope are aimed elsewhere and are intended for three national insignia.
Before laying the film down let the paint mature for at least a day, otherwise a fresh surface will tear while it is lifted off. The metal tubes are glued into the fuselage right up to the stop so that they keep the angle of the weapons; their axis has to be parallel to the axis of the aircraft, because with the length of the cooling jacket every deviation is noticeable at once. Only then is the model polished and fitted with the small details.
