This resin accessory from Quickboost brings precisely cast barrels for the defensive machine guns of a model of the American Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress heavy bomber in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit, but a replacement part that swaps the simplified plastic barrels from the box for more faithful and more slender castings.

What the part is for

The B-17G was the definitive version of the famous Flying Fortress and became known for its dense defensive fire from 12.7 mm machine guns placed all around the fuselage and in the chin turret. The many barrels are exactly what stands out on a model; fine castings with faithful proportions look far better than the thicker plastic parts from the box and save the laborious job of replacing them with metal tube.

Usage tips

First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove mold release residue. Separate the thin barrels carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife or a saw and clean them up with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and handle them with tweezers. The muzzles can be suggested gently for effect; dark metal and lightly rusted shades bring out the material.
