The AH-1G is an American attack helicopter of the Vietnam War era, derived from the UH-1 series. In the large 1:32 scale the model comes out big enough for worked-up detail to really tell.

How to go about the finishing

• Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, degrease them and let them dry.
• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the face down flush.
• Try everything dry first and only then glue; take the material off little by little.
• Secure the joint with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger faces a two-part adhesive helps.
• Lay on a thin coat of primer before painting: it evens the surface out and shows what is unfinished.
• Paint the parts that will not be reachable once assembled before you seat them.
