The 1:32 Bell AH-1G Cobra decals, 11th Aviation Helicopter Cavalry, are an add-on decal set from Art Scale for a kit of the AH-1G attack helicopter in the large 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Art Scale. It is neither a kit nor a finished model but an accessory: the decals give a Bell AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter, already built or still on the bench, the markings of helicopter cavalry units of the 11th Aviation Group. The set suits any AH-1G kit in this scale for which you want markings other than the ones lying in the box.
The Bell AH-1G Cobra was the first production helicopter designed from the start as an attack machine. It came about when the designers took the engine and the dynamic system of the proven UH-1 and paired them with a new, markedly narrowed fuselage with tandem seating: the gunner in front, the pilot behind and higher up. Under the stub wings it carried rocket pods and weapon containers, and in the traversing turret at the nose a machine gun or a grenade launcher. It entered service in 1967 and in Southeast Asia it served to escort transport helicopters and to give direct fire support.
Decals belong exclusively on a smooth gloss undercoat. A matte varnish has a microscopically broken-up surface and a silvery veil then appears under the carrier film. Cut the motif out as closely as you can, soak it in clean water for a few seconds and let it rest on the paper until it starts to slide freely. Carry the decal to the model along with its backing paper and slide it off with a brush. Apply the decal softener drop by drop and do not touch the softening film any more, or it will tear. Once dry, spray the area with a varnish in the sheen you want, so that the edges disappear.
This is an add-on decal set, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
