Blue rib tapes for Fokker aircraft 1:32 from Quinta Studio are decal tapes imitating the covering of the ribs on a fabric skin. They cover the family of types from the Dr.I to the D.VII.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Quinta Studio set in 1:32 scale contains decal tapes with which the fabric strips taping over the ribs under the skin are imitated on a model. It is not an interior set or a part for the cockpit but an external surface detail. It is applied with water like a decal and takes the place of laborious masking and spraying of narrow strips.
The family of Fokker fighters from the Dr.I triplane to the D.VII biplane had their flying surfaces covered with fabric, which was taped over every rib and varnished. On some machines these tapes were of a different, blue shade, so they created a conspicuous regular pattern across the whole span of the skin.
Do not cut the tapes to the length of one rib in advance but leave a margin and remove the excess on the model with a damp brush and a sharp knife — a strip stretches slightly when soaked, and a tape cut exactly to size while dry may then not reach the trailing edge. Cut on glass or on a cutting mat and keep the sheet dry while you do it; paper that has once been moistened curls and further tapes separate from it less easily. Return any unused part of the sheet to its packaging and store it flat, in the dark and dry; decal film becomes brittle in time and a sheet bent in a drawer breaks exactly where you need it whole.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
